Cambodia Crowns Its First Mister Supranational

INTERNATIONAL: On Friday 25 March 2022, Cambodia crowned its first Mister Supranational, Lao Panha. In the live televised special, twenty-five contestants from twenty-five capitals and provinces competed to be Mister Supranational to represent Cambodia on the international stage in Poland this July.

Lao Panha said that he is so excited to represent Cambodia on the international stage. He looks forward to showing Cambodian culture, especially Bokator. He has studied and performed Bokator for many years.

It was the first time that Cambodia organized Mister Supranational. Mr. In Sophin, General Director of Mahahang Production, said that it was a long hard battle to be able to get this franchise to Cambodia. There were many standards that the organization needed to meet in order to put this program on while working through the pandemic. Nevertheless, he is proud to help bring Cambodia to the international stage.

Before the crowning moment, both Lao Panha and Khornthii Nakk stood hand in hand while the audience shout in encouragement for both contestants. After much suspension, Lao Panha was announced as the winner and Mister Supranational. Khornthii Nakk became the first Mister Grand Cambodia instead. He will represent Cambodia on the international stage in Puerto Rico.

Despite not winning Mister Supranational, Khornthii Nakk was happy to win Mister Grand Cambodia and for the experience that he went through with the other contestants. They have considered themselves as a brotherhood. They laughed and cried together. These are the only people who would understand what he went through.

The organization and the public alike are excited to see how Cambodia shapes up on the international stage.
